We designed our Port Canaveral Eco Tours to give you the opportunity to see the most you can possibly see of Florida wildlife by visiting 3 ecosystems during your time with us – Atlantic Ocean, Port Canaveral, and Banana River Lagoon. We are the only tour that is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard to take passengers into the Atlantic Ocean giving you more opportunity to see wild Florida!
We will spend a portion of our time traveling along the undeveloped, pristine beaches of Cape Canaveral Air Station (The Cape). This is the longest stretch of undeveloped coastline on the East Coast. You will get to see a unique view of launch pads, NASA’s Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB), and several other historical landmarks. While we are in the beautiful Atlantic, you will have a great opportunity to see dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, manta rays, jelly fish, and ocean going birds. If you are really lucky, you may even see a mola mola or a right whale.
Port Canaveral itself is an ecosystem. This is where industry and wildlife co-exist. You will see dolphins playing off the bow of a mega cruise ship and even right at our dock. You will see pelicans and sea turtles hanging around for the fishing fleet to throw out scraps. Port Canaveral’s lock system is an absolute favorite hang out for manatees and dolphins. You will also get a good look at some of the underwater species such as snook, mullet, and sheep head.
Banana River Lagoon is the 3rd eco system, which is a mixture of salt and fresh water called brackish water. This unique meeting of salt and fresh makes the lagoon a unique environment for astonishing number of fish and birds. You may have an opportunity to see blue crabs, spider crabs and the cool yet creepy horseshoe crab. You also have a good chance at seeing our birds of prey in action effortlessly grabbing fishing right from the water.
